Eric Oppegaard
Candidate for the 2024 CROA Board of Directors
Fred (Mr.) Rogers has always been a personal hero of mine. His attitude towards kindness, education, compassion, and love is something I feel is truly lacking in today’s society.
As your time is valuable, know that this methodology is the basis for why I am seeking your support in the 2024 CROA Board of Directors Election.
I’m stepping forward as a candidate for our Homeowners Association Board because, just like in all neighborhoods, we all have special roles to play.
Recently, I’ve become concerned with the direction of our community. I believe in a neighborhood where kindness guides our decisions, where understanding and compassion are at the heart of what we do. It’s this belief that inspires me to be part of the change, to bring more kindness and consideration into our decision-making process.
With an understanding wife and two delightful children of my own, I deeply appreciate the dreams we all have for a community where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and happy. My experiences as a past Director, Secretary, and President of the Celebration Residential Owners Association have not just given me insight but also shown me how much more beautiful our neighborhood becomes when we listen and work together.
Being in these positions has taught me the value of every voice. I’m here to keep our conversations going, to understand what you hope for, and to act thoughtfully for the benefit of us all.
If you place your trust in me, I promise to use my professional skills and personal experiences to make wise and kind decisions. I’m committed to being open, honest, and dedicated, ensuring our neighborhood is not just a place to live, but a place where every family can flourish.
I am excited about the possibility of contributing to our community’s bright future and hope to earn your trust and support. Let’s make our neighborhood the best it can be, together, with kindness at the forefront of every decision.
I was honored to be one of the youngest members ever elected to the CROA Board in 2013 after serving on the Community Standards Task Force as well as the Communications Committee where I continued as Board Liaison.
In 2016, I was re-elected to the board, where I continued to serve the community continuing the work we had started in my prior term.
In 2018, I reached my term limit on the Board, which was good timing, as I was welcoming the birth of my second son.
Led the team in bringing Streaming Technology to the community
Saw the launch of CeleService, our mobile community app
Brought Fiber to the Home (FTTH) to Celebration through competitive negotiation
Worked with Celebration Sanitation on the initial “Burglar Box” for safely recycling items around the holidays.
Thank you for stopping by my virtual front porch. If you have any questions, or comments, or just want to say hello, please do not hesitate. I look forward to continuing to connect with even more neighbors through this experience.
